Easter, road trips, and Kete school holiday fun!

Keep an eye on Kete Books over the coming weeks, we’ve planned some special school holiday content!

In the Kete Questionnaire, editor Dionne Christian will talk with Tui Street Legends author Anne Kayes. And, find out what the student poets whose incredible work appears in Pasifika Navigators have to say about writing and poetry in their conversations with Kete too. School holiday content will feature on the site on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Those with an eye on this week’s Nielson Bestseller list will have noticed an Easter theme running through the books for children. Topping the children’s list for the week ending 1 April 2023 was Granny McFlitter’s Eggcellent Easter and we see our friends over at Penguin Books have some eggcellent activites on their website for the book too, take a look!

Our giveaway in our Kete Books newsletter this week has a road trip connection for the long weekend. This week’s giveaway is the updated edition of Robin Morrison’s groundbreaking book The South Island of New Zealand: From the Road. Our thanks to publisher Massey University Press. Entry details are all in this week’s Kete Books newsletter.

All the more reason to make sure you sign up!

Keep an eye out next week too for reviews of:

Face to the Sky by Michele Leggott (Auckland University Press)
Laughing at the Dark: A memoir by Barbara Else (Penguin Random House)
