Donate a book this Christmas

Kiwi Christmas Books is once again collecting donations of brand new Kiwi books to gift to families who can’t afford to buy Christmas presents for their kids, or who struggle to access good books in general.

Consider buying an extra book or two next time you are shopping to donate to this worthy cause. Baby books, picture books, chapter books, YA books — Kiwi Christmas Books would love them all (particularly if they’re by a writer or illustrator from Aotearoa)!

How to donate a book

You can donate in person at a participating bookseller (46 bookshops around Aotearoa are participating this year).

Or you can donate a book online through your local participating bookseller.

For a full list, and to see where your donated books will go, go to www.kiwichristmasbooks.org.nz.

Books are delivered through local charities who work with families on the ground in 25 different towns and cities around NZ.

Gift cards

You can also purchase gift cards through the Kiwi Christmas Books website and donate a book on behalf of someone else. They make great presents for staff, colleagues, family and friends — take a look here: https://shop.kiwichristmasbooks.org.nz

Donations close on Monday, 11 December.
