Listen: Nix Adams on her many lives

She won Celebrity Treasure Island this year, but most people probably know Nix Adams from her huge social media following.

Originally from Northland, the death of her 16-month-old son, Alaska, while she living in Australia, set her Nix a spiral of grief, drug addiction, dealing, and sex work.

Eventually getting sober, while in prison, Nix used social media as a form of counselling, and to help prove to her whanau that she was clean and doing her best.

Now living what she dubs her third life, her book Nothing to Lose: A mother's journey through grief, addiction and recovery released on 3 November 2026.

She spoke with RNZ's Kathryn Ryan on Nine to Noon.
