17 October 2026 First published RNZ

In 2025 Pounamu Jade Aikman was the Emerging Māori writer in Residence at Victoria University. From that he produced a new book called Whose Knowledge Counts? From Warp Drive to Waka Huia. He says it's a "story woven of my interlinked passions: Māori knowledge systems, critical theory and Star Trek."

He spoke with RNZ's Julian Wilcox on Māpuna.
