Between 2010-2016, five destructive earthquake hit Christchurch, New Zealand. On 22 February 2011, one destroyed the city, killing 185 people. Hundreds suffered lifelong injuries. Although over 95% of properties were fully insured, tens of thousands of insurance claims were mismanaged. A decade later, thousands of 650,000 damaged homes are still to be properly repaired or rebuilt and many land claims are still to be settled.
