The Wild and Windy Stars of Matariki: Waipunarangi and Ururangi

Te Rerehua and Sam love Te Mata Hāpuku, a wild and windswept place where the stones tell stories and the stars shine bright. But when they spot mysterious fires on the beach one night, they soon find themselves entangled in a trick played by the mischievous patupaiarehe. As Sam is drawn toward the crashing waves, the patupaiarehe shriek with joy that he will soon become one of them. Grandma and Pōua call on the power of Ururangi's winds and Waipunarangi's rain to save him. They must outwit the fairy folk and get Sam safely home, under the watchful eyes of the Matariki stars.
