About the Author

Jennifer Somervell is the author of the award-winning Tales From the Farm picture book series, illustrated by her sister Margery Fern. The stories are based on their childhood adventures growing up on a New Zealand farm in the 1970s. Curly Cat the Acrobat is Jennifer's third fictional book, and the second featuring the antics of Curly Cat. All her nine books have all won first place awards in the Purple Dragonfly Book Awards for excellence in children's literature.

Illustrator Zerika Van Jaarsveld cut her artistic teeth drawing on the walls of her grandmother's family home in Namibia. Curly Cat the Acrobat is her third collaboration with Jennifer. She lives in Otautau, Southland.
