When Warwick Stubbs moved from Invercargill to Motueka in the winter of 2017, he found himself questioning the meaning of friendship, family, and what it meant to feel truly at home when a house and fleeting jobs no longer provided the security and warmth expected.
What followed was an exploration of the individual alone in a world filled with all the beauty that the Tasman District and beyond provided. From the cafes of Motueka, through redundant rooms and houses, to questioning life without the dream of family to embrace and care for, to confronting depression and suicidal thoughts, and finally finding peace and redemption on the side of the Motueka River, this journey of self-discovery comes alive in uncompromising poetry & prose.
