Never knowing I had any relatives except Aunty Glad, I was absolutely amazed to find out only a couple of years ago that my great-great-grandfather, Job Flowers, had arrived on one of the first sailing ships into Nelson from England.

Life is a once in a lifetime experience that everyone should take advantage of and not take for granted. Seventy-five years ago, life was quite different but only because we hadn't got all the 'tech stuff' yet. We still had birds and bees and trees and fish and chips.I'm convinced that I have the best ever 75 years of history - an era when life seemed easier. Thankfully, I've been able to remember most of my pathway through life... and this is the story of how I made the most of it.
