The Bible that gets read right through
The whole Bible in clear chronological order, all the way through, (just like the book of Genesis) but condensed to half its size. Now you can be uplifted reading and enjoying the Bible without being confused by non-essential history, long genealogies, duplications and books out of chronological order.
Half the length but contains all the books
The Condensed Bible is about half the length of traditional Bibles, yet retains all the important details, books, stories, parables, prophecy, power and spiritual upliftment of the full length Bible.
Books in chronological order with the date on every page
Traditional Bibles follow the Jewish custom of putting the longest books first. So apart from the first two books of Genesis and Exodus, the timeline is all over the place, which is often confusing. But the Condensed Bible flows naturally in chronological order, just like the book of Genesis. It even has the approx year on every page.
The world's most interesting and understandable Bible.
The text is taken from the world's finest translations, but necessarily the chapter and verse numbering is different from the traditional Bible. It's so clear and easy to understand it can hold your interest all the way through. You'll be surprised how much you learn, understand and remember.
Large concordance (index) to instantly find verses
However it has a large concordance (index) at the back, to allow you to instantly find topics and passages that interest you. And when you look up a topic, you'll find not just the page and verse number, but also the key part of the verse itself. So most times you'll not need to look any further.
Clearly reveals all the Bible's beauty, purity and truth
The Condensed Bible could be compared to a beautiful garden, trimmed of the overgrowth of centuries to clearly reveal all its beauty, purity and truth.
Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke combined
The three gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke have been combined into one vivid narrative, full of fascinating detail. The spiritual gospel of John, full of the spoken words of Jesus, is still kept separate.
Psalms and Proverbs sorted by topic
The best of Psalms and Proverbs are retained and sorted by topic.
Hundreds of photographs, and simple maps
You'll also get interesting footnotes and hundreds of photos, and simple maps throughout.
Reader's testimonies of Condensed Bible
"I have never read anything with such impact. I have read it right through. I highly recommend it. I'm so glad I read it." Ed Jessup, Upper Hutt. New Zealand.
"I wish we had this book during my mission years. It would have made for an easier way to get people reading and understanding the Bible. It's amazing the amount of material you have packed into a reasonably small book. The Concordance is superb! The price is most reasonable. Congratulations on a good job. Well done." Trevor Shepherd, Retired Methodist minister, Tauranga, New Zealand.
"Exciting, relevant, easy to understand. Whenever I go to pick it up, I find my daughter has taken it away to read. I'll have to get her a copy of her own. Thank you for your work in making this happen." Peri Kohu, Tauranga, New Zealand
"I'm getting so much out of this book." Tania Wallace. New Zealand.
"I have read the Bible many times. Large parts were quite often a chore, especially the Old Testament. With this Condensed Bible, and especially with the footnotes, I have a deeper understanding of the culture in which the prophets and Jesus Christ lived, making their words come to life. A spiritual experience every time. It has made me hungry for the gospel." Roy Hanson. Matata, New Zealand.
"The combining of the gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke, the layout of the Psalms, and grouping of Proverbs by topic, are definitely much more readable and easy to understand than a standard Bible. Barbara Coory, Palmerston North, New Zealand.
"I found it so fulfilling and spiritually uplifting. I have attempted many times to read the Bible, but end up putting it down. But I have read your book cover to cover, and feel so blessed to have done so. So I must thank you." Avalon Hawkins, Sydney, Australia.
About the Author
David Coory was born in Wellington, New Zealand in 1946 to a father of Christian Lebanese descent and a mother of Scottish/Welsh ancestry. His family then moved to the West Coast of the South Island where he spent his early
childhood. The family later returned to the Wellington area where his father managed a small dairy farm. David attended St Bernard's Catholic College in Lower Hutt.
David, now in his 79th year, still lives in Tauranga, New Zealand with his wife, children and grand children and is still actively involved in his faith, health research and writing. David appears to have inherited his passion
for writing and research from his Lebanese forefathers. His grandfather Joseph Coory attended school in Becharre (in the mountains of Lebanon) with the world-famous Christian Lebanese writer Kahlil Gibran (author of 'The Prophet'). Kahlil's influence appears to have inspired the Coory family with a love of literature.
He has published several books, most recently The Condensed Bible, Cure ADHD and Allergies with the Feingold Diet, and The Second Coming of Jesus Christ and the 1000 year Millennium.
