A billionaire's body discovered; a gruesome death; lives changed forever. Tumultuous family dynamics and business intrigue add suspense when murder disrupts the tranquil beauty of rural New Zealand.

Pressured by her boss to solve the high-profile case, Detective Dani Painter must cut through layers of deceit and betrayal to find the facts that will expose the guilty-a difficult task when every suspect had good reason to hate the victim.

This is the fourth in a series of thrillers and mystery novels with a link to Hawke's Bay, on the east coast of New Zealand.

About the Author

Ray Wood was a marine geophysicist for more than 30 years. He and his wife retired to a small farm on the east coast of the North Island of New Zealand. Aside from looking after their land and animals, he works on
several vintage Farmall tractors, practices welding by making artistic gates and steel flowers, and makes furniture from native timber. When it's raining, he finds time to write. His next story is another adventure/thriller about construction of an offshore wind farm in Hawke's Bay.
