Sometimes we can get stuck in our thoughts.

This can also make us stuck in how we are feeling. What are some examples where we might get stuck on a thought and then feel a certain way? Does anyone have any ideas of what we can do to move away from unhelpful thoughts? This story looks at how we can breathe mindfully. We can use our minds to think about our breathing, so we can move away from unhelpful thoughts.

Focus Skills:

  • Develop prosody by reading instructions with intonation

  • Differentiate between similarly spelt words: breath / breathe body / bodies

  • Read accurately and with appropriate expression

  • Reflect on text meaning and try belly breathing yourself
