Podcast SERVED WITH RICE features Kiwi authors

The brainchild of writers Jackie Lee Morrison, Emma Pei Yin and Jacquie Pham, SERVED WITH RICE is a literary visual podcast that brings together conversations about race, writing, and belonging. The three hosts explore what it means to write from the margins—and to do so with joy, curiosity, and unapologetic honesty.
Each episode invites listeners to slow down and think critically about books, publishing, and the cultural politics of storytelling, while also honouring the pleasure of connection. A well-cooked meal is carefully created during the podcast by ex-chef Jackie. Featured authors from Aotearoa include esteemed past Poet Laureate Chris Tse, author of three exceptional poetry collections; Khadro Mohamed, poet and novelist, whose debut poetry collection won the Jessie MacKay Best First Book Award at the Ockham New Zealand Book Awards; and Damien Levi, editor at Āporo Press. Australian featured authors include Tigest Girma, Angie Faye Martin, Natalia Figuera Barrosso, and Jane Yang.
Episode 1 coming Tuesday 27th January, 2026. Check out servedwithricepoddy.com for more details.
