The Notables: Storylines announce Notable Book Awards
Storylines Children’s Literature Trust Te Whare Waituhi Tamariki o Aotearoa is delighted to announce the 2025 Storylines Notable Books list, representing the very best books for children and young adults published in the last twelve months.
The Storylines Notable Book Awards celebrate excellence in Aotearoa New Zealand children’s and young adult literature, recognising outstanding books that reflect the creativity, diversity, and depth of storytelling in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Selected by panels of children’s and YA librarians, authors, illustrators, teachers, academics and whānau, this Storylines Notable Book List highlight exceptional titles published between
16 November 2024 and 15 November 2025.
There are five categories - Picture Book, Junior Fiction, Young Adult Fiction, Non-fiction, and Te Reo Māori.
