Peter Averi is a Wellington based musician, born in 1934, who has enjoyed over seven decades of the changing musical scene in New Zealand. His years in broadcasting transitioned through the NZBS, NZBC, BCNZ and RNZ, with the major re-structuring of radio and television. From the National Orchestra to the NZSO he was involved in the development of the 'jewel in the crown' of broadcasting in the years prior to the stand-alone organisation that it is today.
