Jessica Hinerangi Thompson Carr is of Ngāti Ruanui, Ngāruahine, Ngāpuhi and Pākehā descent. Born in Ōtepoti, she has a degree in English and art history with a masters in Māori ekphrastic poetry. She is a poet, journalist and illustrator, working primarily on Instagram under the name @maori_mermaid. Her previous work has appeared in Landfall, Starling, The Big Idea and The Pantograph Punch.
Karen Hinge was raised as a 'free-range kid' in the Waikato. Her childhood memories include long days of freedom spent bike riding, hut building, hill sliding and blackberry picking. She began her teaching career in Christchurch and enjoyed exploring the amazing South Island during holiday breaks. She now lives in beautiful Northland where, for the last 20 years, she and her partner Derek have been raising their family of three children. An intermediate school teacher, Karen says she loves the learning opportunities that teaching brings.

Emma Hinton grew up flying on the wind, collecting treasures on her family farm in the Waikato. Becoming a mother, she wanted to share this with her daughter and connect with their whakapapa by learning Te Reo. This is her first picture book. She lives in Waitākere, Auckland.
Dr Rosemary Hipkins, MNZM, has recently retired from the New Zealand Council for Educational Research (NZCER) with Emeritus status. Her research has focused on the complex intersection between curriculum and assessment, particularly in science education. Her recent work has explored ways to bring different knowledge systems together to enrich and deepen learning

Andreas J. Hirsch is a writer, art curator and photographic artist who lives in Vienna, Austria. In 2011 he edited the book Hundertwasser - The Art of the Green Path and curated the exhibition of the same title for the Kunst Haus Wien (Hundertwasser Museum) in Vienna. His other writings include books on Picasso, Giger, Beethoven, and the history of Vienna.

Emma Hislop (Kāi Tahu) is a Taranaki-based writer. Her work has appeared in literary journals and anthologies in New Zealand and overseas, including Action Spectacle, Sport, Huia, Newsroom and Takahē. She has a Masters of Creative Writing from the IIML and in 2021 received the Creative New Zealand Louis Johnson New Writers Bursary.
