Frances Samuel's first book was Sleeping on Horseback (VUP, 2014). Her poems have appeared in many print and online publications, including Sport, Best New Zealand Poems, Short Poems of New Zealand, and the National Library exhibition The Next Word: Contemporary New Zealand Poetry.
Maria Samuela was born in Wellington, where she still lives, and is of Cook Islands descent. She’s had stories published in Turbine, Sport 46, Takahe, and adda, and read on National Radio. Her stories have appeared in anthologies Middle Distance: Long Stories of Aotearoa New Zealand and A Game of Two Halves: The Best of Sport 2005–2019. She also writes for children. In 2019, her story ‘Bluey’ was shortlisted for the Commonwealth Writers Short Story Prize. In 2020, a second story was longlisted.

Ben Sanders is the author of American Blood and Marshall's Law, as well as three New Zealand Fiction Bestsellers: The Fallen, By Any Means, and Only the Dead. Sanders's first three novels were written while he was studying at university; he graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor of Engineering and now writes full-time. American Blood, his highly-anticipated American debut, was published in November 2015, and the second in the series, Marshall's Law, in April 2017. Sanders lives in Auckland, New Zealand
Cristina Sanders grew up in the family’s Gateway Bookshop in Wellington, where all books were tested on children. She went on to work for some years in book marketing and publishing both in New Zealand and London, and has recently begun writing novels. Her young adult manuscript, Displaced, inspired by her family’s immigration from Norway in the 1870s, won the 2020 Storylines Tessa Duder Award. Jerningham is her first novel for adults.
