Sally Carson is an environmental educator and marine scientist with considerable experience leading educational initiatives where school students and the wider community engage with the marine environment, develop science skills and learn how to be kaitiaki for the coast. She has been the driver behind a number of community education initiatives including the Aquavan, and Marine Metre Squared, a national citizen science project on long term monitoring of the NZ seashore. Sally is currently the director of the New Zealand Marine Studies Centre, Dept of Marine Science, University of Otago. Rod Morris is a wildlife photographer, documentary- maker, and natural historian who has contributed to some 30 books over the course of his career. His particular interest lies in collaborating on field guides and other nature books accessible to children, where his nature photography can showcase not only the characteristic features of our lesser-known native animals and plants, but also unique aspects of their behaviour.
A true rugby superstar, Dan Carter is arguably the world's best fly-half and his reputation and subsequent fame transcends both hemispheres. He possesses a complete package, including great speed, defensive strength and a dangerous side-step. A reliable goal-kicker and astute tactician, the accomplished Carter is the game's leading all-time Test points-scorer.
Pete Carter is a writer and photographer, and runs an art rental business. His published work includes magazine articles, two books of poetry and a children’s book. As a photographer he has had group exhibitions and two solo exhibitions. Pete lives in Wellington with his wife and two dogs.

Dr Michele Cox is a former Football Fern - the New Zealand Women's National Football team - with six published books to date. The Sammy Football Trilogy series draws on Michele's experiences growing up playing football - a male dominated sport. Michele has worked for FIFA, UEFA, NZ Football, NZ Cricket and Hockey NZ. She has been a board member for Paralympics New Zealand, Sport Auckland and YMCA Auckland. Between 2005 and 2011, Michele was a member of the FIFA Committee for Women's Football and the Women's World Cup, and from 2019 - 2022 was Chief Executive for the NZ Football Foundation.

Des Casey was raised in rural South Canterbury, NZ. His working life includes freelance journalism, a 40-year career in mental health (counsellor, family therapist, mediator, tutor) and five years with the Department of Conservation on Aotea Great Barrier Island. Des has a sociology degree, counselling qualifications and a post-graduate diploma in environmental management. He lives with his wife in Nelson.
